About Me

I am a crazy woman, funny and carefree but type A and anal all at the same time. I have two daughters and a Father who's a King...what more do I need?! My goal on this planet is to help His bride: literally (I plan weddings for a living!) and spiritually (I occasionally offer words of wisdom to loved ones...) Bless us all on this journey!

Bathroom Humor

Remodeling is never fun but remodeling as a single mom becomes even more ridiculous. Long story short I needed my bathtub replaced so it wouldn't fall through the floor. Yeah. Packed up the children and went to my mom's for the long 4 day weekend, during which I had to work so my mom watched the kids at her house and the bathroom guy did the bathtub thing at my house. Ugh! Just hauling 3 people's worth of crap to grandma's for 4 days is a pain...let alone trying not to think of the mess that I'd have to clean up when I finally returned home. Alas the project is complete...except for some tile work my brother says he'd like to do to my floor. FYI things get done quicker when you pay a professional stranger than when you wait for well-intentioned friends and family members who say they'll do it for free but take 2 years to get around to it.
Anyone else have remodeling stories?

I don't have remodelling stories, but often I wish I had the $$ to hire someone and not have to wait for my well-intentioned husband to get in the mood to do stuff. LOL!

How is the bathroom? Did you get anything fun or just the basic white tub? You need to post a pic when you get it all cleaned up.

nothing fun, looks exactly the same, but the original tub was with the original house (as in 1945) and we kept having to recaulk and my brother kept trying to just...make it work...anyway got a new one from von tobel's free delivery they were great (beats the 16 year olds at menards who know NOTHING)and hopefully the plumbing problems we've had in there since 1997 are now a thing of the past. hopefully. :)

remodeling stories........hmmm.....how much time and space do you have? Still trying to get the kitchen done. Been a year in progress now. goal is to get it done before Annalynn's birthday party in March. But then that was the goal last year as well..........(sigh)

My remodeling stories involve my husband doing all the the work and not stopping until its done. I'm serious when I say he doesnt stop. :) So, I guess my stories really arent eventfull or frustrating (unless your the wife that is wanting his time). I just happened be blesses with a Very driven handy man. :)

Okay I have some really great remodeling stories, but I won't embarass my husband by sharing them all. Because this blog was about bathrooms, I will say that my bathroom started being remodeled 8 years ago and still is not done!! I think we need to start over now.....LOL. My husband is a very handy man who works in construction, so, that's the last thing he wants to do on his time off.

By the way he is one of those family/friends with good intentions who offered to do some electrical work for you. Almost every time we are near your house, he asks me if you ever got that work done. I say, "have you been over there yet"? I look to see if your car is there, thinking will stop by while we are right there and you can talk to him about what needs to be done.....but your car hasn't been there once. So do you have certain days off? Call me or let me know here and I will get a time scheduled if you still need the work done.

So do you still have electrical work that needs to be done? I probably can't get him to do your work before mine...and hopefully it won't take 8 years.

Oh geez....I messed up the order of that last comment. Thats what I get for talking and typing at the same time and then not proof reading....but you did get my point I'm sure, cause you are great with crazy people.
